Byron Bay
Byron Bay
Byron Bay is the most easterly point of Australia, about 200 kilometers south of Brisbane. The small city with the character of a village is situated in a big bay, which on one side has the shape of a cape. Very long superb sand beaches with great surf waves have made Byron Bay to a famous tourist resort – especially for young travellers. Not only is Byron Bay known for great surfing – you can also scuba dive in the corals of the Great Barrier Reef, hike through the beautiful forest in the hinterland or just simply watch the Dolphins off the beaches.
Byron Bay has approx. 12'000 inhabitants and would have grown much more, had not the local officials imposed a halt on building and further development. Therefore the city still enjoys a relaxing atmosphere in a very unspoilt, natural surrounding.
Pubs, Discos and music places guarantee a great night life in Byron Bay. It is the place for youngsters as well as for people young at heart, who want to get away from the daily stress to learn English in a relaxing atmosphere and at the sime time enjoy life.
