Fremantle is the main harbour in Western Australia, situated about 20 km away from the centre of Perth on Australia's west coast.
History, culture and art are reunited in this quaint city built in the 19th century. Its charm attracts many people who come to eat, stroll through the streets and enjoy the night life. There are many cafés, restaurants, bars and pubs along the streets, and whatever you do, do not forget to visit the traditional Freo Markets, and the old jail. There are many festivals that take place throughout the year - Fremantle is very multicultural. Its architecture, the historical background and the harbour atmosphere make Fremantle into a unique place.
The location of Fremantle makes it very comfortable to reach with public transport, taking only 20 minutes by train from the centre of Perth.
It also has a very pleasant climate. During the summer months a nice breeze blows in the afternoon which is known as the «Fremantle Doctor».
