Gold Coast

Gold Coast

The Gold Coast lies 80 km south of Brisbane in the state of Queensland, also known as the "Sunshine State". The 42 km stretch along the east coast that forms the Gold Coast, has 21 beaches and 315'000 inhabitants. The Gold Coast is to Queensland what Hawaii and Florida are to the States and Australia's mekka for sun, beach and surfing. It is the most popular holiday destination for international and national tourists. Its subtropical climate with 300 days of sunshine and temperatures between 11 and 29°C permit an outdoor way of life all year round.
There are also many hidden attractions: areas of rain forest and fruit plantations, as well as national parks which can be easily reached. Surfers Paradise, the main city, offers a great variety of entertainment. You will find fantastic shops, restaurants, clubs, discos and one of the best beaches for surfing. Night life is at its best during the Summer months of December and January.
