Shanghai

This habour city on the river of Huangpu has approx. 9 million inhabitants, is one of the biggest cities in China, and is without doubt one of the most important economic metropolis in the country. During the past few years, Shanghai has contributed in a very positive way, to the development of China. Its geographical location on the Jangtse Delta has helped, and has made Shanghai today into a modern city that has been able to combine traditional Chinese culture with a western economy. The city is divided into two by the river Huangpu. The traditional part of the city is situated in Puxi on the west of the river bank, and the new part in the business district of Pudong, on the east of the river bank. Shanghai has many attractions for tourists such as old temples, parks, museums, as well as many very modern buildings.
