San Sebastián

San Sebastián is situated in a beautiful, mussel shaped bay and is a lively and friendly city with
180 000 inhabitants.
It is the cultural center of the Basken country and is only 20 km away from France. Only a few cities offer so much variety in one place: beautiful scenery, beaches, mountains, folklore and tradition.
In regards to the beaches you have 3 aternatives: the most well known is La Concha, and is situated close to the city center. The water is very peaceful in summer which is great for swimming. The second is called Zurriola, lies 5 minutes away by foot, and is a paradise for surfers. You will find a lot of water lovers here that enjoy the high waves. The third possibility, Ondarreta is not as well known and is therefore much quieter and better to relax.
There are many, many cultural activites such as the cinemas and music festivals. An uncountable number of festivals as well as many cultural specialities give you an insight into the ability the locals have to enjoy life.
