Chester
One of the most beautiful cities in the middle of England
Chester has approx. 120'000 inhabitants and is situated in the north west of England (Cheshire), close to the border of Wales.
The history of Chester goes back to over 2'000 years ago, and which makes this region very interesting from a cultural point of view. It enjoys over 8,25 million tourists very year. Chester has managed to maintain its original city walls, and is also very proud to have the biggest roman Amphitheater in England. The unique 'Rows' are now the scene of two story, middle age shopping galleries with everything from antiquarian and book shops to designer boutiques. Further treasures of the city are the Cathedral that is over 1'000 years old, and the oldest horse racing track in Great Britain. The river Dee is the center for relaxation in the city, for boat rides, or long strolls along the banks. Popular meetings points and ideal places to come in contact with the locals are the many traditional and trendy cafes and pubs that Chester has to offer.
