Peking

The agglomeration Peking has a population of over 15 million inhabitants and is one of the most densly populated areas in the world. The capital city of the Peoples Republic of China, is also the political center of the country. This region has been populated for thousands of years, which gives rise to lots of fascinating history, and an interesting combination of old Chinese traditions with temples and palaces such as the 'forbidden city', and modern sky scrapers. Due to the Olympic Games in 2008, many old houses and even complete suburbs were destroyed, and replaced by new suburbs. Despite the very popular topic of polution in Peking, this city is definitely worth a visit.
