Lyon

Narrow laneways with an uncountable number of bistros, and streets from the middle ages, socalled «Traboules», dominate the old part of the city of Lyon. Rich with many artistic wonders, cultural facets and amazing buildings, this city was listed in 1998 by UNESCO as being part of the Inheritated World History. The city is situated on a peninsula where the Rhône and the Saône come together. The population is 1.2 million, making Lyon one of the biggest cities in France and it is still one of the most important trading points for silk.
