The International Center for American English is located in an office complex in the heart of La Jolla. The school offers students a unique opportunity to learn English in an international atmosphere. Students, who book an ICAE course, are very motivated to deepen their English knowledge. The students are expected to actively participate, thus to make good progress. The school has 26 classrooms and is located on the second floor. There is a lovely veranda in the courtyard. In addition, there is a coffee shop in the office complex.

Host Family
The school arranges for you to live with a painstakingly selected host family in a single room with breakfast or half-board. The travel time from the host family's home to school can be between 20 and 80 minutes.

Apartments
You can also live in an apartment complex or a private studio. The studios consist of a large room with a living area and bed, a small kitchen and bathroom. These studios are big enough for two people.
One bedroom apartments have a living room, a separate bedroom, a kitchenette and a bathroom.
Two bedroom apartments have a living room, two separte bedrooms, a small kitchen and two bathrooms. These accommodations are approximately 20 to 30 mintues by bus from the school. The prices may vary.

In the apartment sharing community, up to 4 students share a two bedroom apartment. You share your room with another student and all share the kitchen and bathroom. Leisure time

There are boundless free-time activities in the San Diego/La Jolla area. Visit Balboa Park with its wonderful zoo, the impressive Sea World® or the picturesque "Old Town". Take a trip to nearby Mexico or simply enjoy the fantastic climate of southern California.
The school organizes a variety of activities and excursions. Some examples are roller blading in Mission Beach, softball, snorkeling, diving, etc.
Weekend trips to Anaheim and Disneyland®, Universal Studios® in Los Angeles or the Wild Animal Park in San Diego are offered. Going to a baseball (San Diego Padres) or football game (San Diego Chargers) is also a great experience. That way, you can learn more about America's favorite sports!
