The School
The Byron Bay English Language School was established in 1998 and lies in the heart of the town, approximately 10 minutes by foot from the beach.
Restaurants and shopping are also in the area.
With 15 classrooms on the second floor, the school has well laid out space. At the Byron Bay English Language School you will get a warm welcome and find a unique atmosphere. Often times, students stay after class in the cozy vestibule of the school or on the large, canopied balcony of the school building. The school building is equipped with wireless internet, which you can use 24 hours a day. In addition, in the building, you will find the Oska Café, where students receive a discount, which is also open to the public.

Accommodation
Host Family
We recommend that you live with a host family during your stay, so you can learn more about Australians. You live with a family in a single room and choose between half-board and self-catering. If you select the option of half-board, you will spend more time with the host family, whereas the self-catering option is better suited for students who want to live with an Australian family, but prefer more independence. The host families are approximately 15 - 25 minutes by bike from the school (bikes may be rented from the school for approximately 12 - 20 dollars per week).
Accommodation
Student Apartments
For students, who are looking for more independence, the school owned student apartments are the appropriate choice. These are located in buildings, which are a few minutes by foot from the school. You have the choice between a single and a double room and share the rest of the house with approximately 5 - 6 other international students. The student apartments are all fully furnished and have a bathroom, kitchen, lounge area with internet access and a balcony or sitting area.
Rooms in these apartments are very popular, so it is worthwhile to make your reservations early.

The sea with its beautiful coastal area, but also the outback with the countless trekking paths, offer many choices for every taste: kayaking with dolphins, walking through the bush, riding, sky diving, fishing, massage and yoga courses, didgeridoo lessons, golf, and of course, surfing. Enjoy the wild atmosphere of this cozy patch of earth.
